Back home, as most of you know the natural disaters that affected us were floods, tornados, ice storms and the occassional blizzard. All usually of minor 'disaster' aside from the blizzard of '78. Out here in the west, we have to worry about wildfires. A lot of them. Some big, some small. Some that burn for days or maybe a week or two. This past week, there was a pretty good sized fire in the hills on the west side of the city. It was started by sparks from a new home construction site and it took out about 2500 acres. We had a birds eye view of the fire out of my garage, so I snapped some pics. Check them out. This fire toasted some back yards, but did not get any homes. It has been a very dry few years out here so many places are on high alert for fires. And this is a picture of my first tomato!

prayin' for rain.
