Back home, as most of you know the natural disaters that affected us were floods, tornados, ice storms and the occassional blizzard. All usually of minor 'disaster' aside from the blizzard of '78. Out here in the west, we have to worry about wildfires. A lot of them. Some big, some small. Some that burn for days or maybe a week or two. This past week, there was a pretty good sized fire in the hills on the west side of the city. It was started by sparks from a new home construction site and it took out about 2500 acres. We had a birds eye view of the fire out of my garage, so I snapped some pics. Check them out. This fire toasted some back yards, but did not get any homes. It has been a very dry few years out here so many places are on high alert for fires. And this is a picture of my first tomato!

Officially back at it. I thought I would start with some pics of the Inn we stayed at in Galena. Technically, it was south of Galena. And technically, it was out in the middle of nowhere. It was an amazing place though. I would definately go back. The picture with the white chairs shows the view overlooking the Mississippi backwaters, and the other is the cottage that we stayed in. Everyone had a great time at the wedding, and we appreciate all who attend. And those who could not make it, we missed you a lot. I myself can't wait to see the pics and the video, because just like everyone said, everything went so fast.

There are also some pictures of a few horses. Those are wild horses. Mustangs, if you will. They are a pretty common sight out here, but it is the first herd that I have seen since being here. I saw them during the 178 mile relay race that I took part in. (I also came within 20 feet of a coyote, but he would not let me snap a photo.) The Mustangs were beuatiful thought. If you want to check out the race course go to http://www.renotahoeodyssey.com/ and take a look. I was runner number 11. Then check out the link to the arizona odyssey. That s my next race.

Well, got to go run a few laps. Enjoy the pics.

Hey I'm back. After a three month hiatus. I hope I still have a fan base out there. We just got our internet up and running in the new house and everything is settling down. I will post some pics tonight hopefully.

All rested,
Tom
